Leather School Bespoke Experience

Founded after the World War II, Scuola del Cuoio (which means Leather School in italian) has been an expert on leather for over sixty years, expressing truly handmade italian craftsmanship. It was founded through the collaboration of Franciscan friars from the Basilica of Santa Croce and the families Gori and Casini, leather artisans since 1930. The aim was to provide the Second World War orphan children the possibility of teaching them the art of leather craftsmanship.

As well as learning how to make bags, suitcases and wallets, they learned the art of gilding leather using 22 carat gold. Later on this initiative was recognized by the Italian Ministery of Foreign Affairs, which gave the importance of the social role to Scuola del Cuoio, with many of those children having later become professional artisans, representing the true Made in Italy originality and impeccability.

We are able to offer you a totally unique bespoke experience, offered exclusively to , which embraces theory, heritage and creativity as well as the possibility of making your own unique handmade "jewel-bag" with the artisan Francesca, one of Gori's daughters, and visiting the leather storage in order to personally choose your materials and one of-a-kind accessories. Then you will complete the whole unique experience with a hands-on lesson by building your own leather article. In the end of the private visit (where you will have the whole establishment closed for you with the professionals at your full disposal) you will receive a small gift gilded with your initials in 22 carat gold.
