Each program is tailored for individuals who are either approaching "the art of Italian cooking" as beginners or are experts in the field and simply need to refresh or deepen their knowledge of some cultural and practical aspects about Italian cuisine.

 

How the program is carried out

- Market tour: 1 hour
- Cooking class and lunch: 3 hours

- Wine class: 1 hour

 

10:00am
Hotel pick up and walking tour of San Lorenzo open air market in the company of course's teaching chef. The tour takes you through the central produce market where the freshest ingredients are available. The upper floor offers the finest fresh fruits, vegetables and flowers, whilst the ground floor displays a variety of meats, cheeses and breads.
A run-through of the history of San Lorenzo Market and food stands will be given as well as seasonality and freshness of Tuscan cuisine explained. A variety of products shown during the tour will then be purchased and used as ingredients during cooking course.


11:30am
Walk to the premises for a hands on cooking class and preparation of three Tuscan seasonal recipes. The class is consisted by a three-hour cooking experience. Menu can be arranged by you, if you may have your own culinary interests or can be selected from our special themed menus. Class will be concluded with lunch which comprises the dishes prepared during the lesson.


1:30pm
Lunch with chef and wine class. During the wine appreciation lesson a sommelier will present tasting techniques based on three different wines. The tasting consists of one red wine (Chianti Classico Riserva), one white wine (Vernaccia di San Gimignano or Vermentino), and a dessert wine (Vin Santo or Aleatico). The sommelier will explain the varieties of Tuscan wines, demonstrating a visual, olfactory and tasting analysis of the experienced wines. Terminology will be taught and applied. The whole experience should finish around 3pm.

Terms of Payment
Visa or MasterCard. A card holder name is necessary, as well as a credit card number, expiry date and ccv (the last 3 digits on the back of the card) in order to proceed with the booking.


Cancellation Policy
Cancellations more than 60 working days before the visit date will be subject to a 30% penalty of the total amount. Cancellations less than 60 working days before the visit date will not be refundable.
